Your new mattress needs time to adjust to your body. Here are a few ways to break in your mattress during your 60 nights to ensure it’s perfect:
Let it breathe.
It’s tempting to dress it up in new bedding,
but give it a few hours to settle and get some oxygen flow.
Put on the pressure.
Try using your hands and feet to apply some pressure to loosen it up.
Be patient.
It’ll take some time for it to adjust to your body, usually around 3 weeks. Sleep on it every night for a minimum of 30 nights so your mattress can get to know you.

Like any new purchase, there’s a period of adjustment when it comes to your new mattress. Think of it as breaking in a new pair of shoes – it takes time for your body to adapt to your mattress and vice versa. Studies show that most people experience some initial discomfort with a new mattress, which is why we recommend giving it at least 30 nights to get used to it. If after 60 nights you’re still not completely comfortable, we’ll do our best to find you the right mattress within 60 days of your original delivery date.
Under our 60 Night Sleep Trial, you’re entitled to one exchange per purchase. For exchanges, there’s a delivery fee of $99 and a restocking fee of 25%, with the credit applied toward the purchase of a different mattress.
Please keep in mind that our 60 Night Sleep Trial doesn’t apply to clearance or preowned items, floor models, pillows, mattress protectors, adjustable bases, furniture, or other accessories. Additionally, special order sizes (such as California King, Split Cal King, etc.) are final sale and not eligible for exchanges or returns. However, in California, the California King and Split California King sizes are eligible for comfort guarantee policies.
For safety reasons, our delivery drivers will inspect the mattress and its foundation upon return. If the mattress is found to be unsanitary, stained, damaged, or contaminated, it cannot be exchanged or returned for a refund.
